The covenant that God made with Abraham was the covenant that pointed to Christ. The covenant that God made with Israel through Moses (the law) was the temporary covenant that God put in place to prepare mankind for and bring mankind to Christ, in whom the Abrahamic covenant was fulfilled and in whom salvation is found.
